SATCA, the Student Air Traffic Control Association at Mt. SAC, is a new club started by the students in October 2002. The club is the second of its kind in the nation and is modeled after another SATCA club at the University of North Dakota. SATCAs primary goal is to provide air traffic control students with a network of information in their field. In our meetings, we invite members from the air traffic control community to speak. We visited several towers, including Ontario and San Diego. SATCA members also participate in community service projects, with an emphasis in promoting aviation in the community. Other activities include various social events throughout the year. In addition, we provide future students with contact resources. We invite anyone with an interest in air traffic control to attend a meeting. Join us, and get to know your fellow students! News!!At next the next SATCA meeting we will be electing a new president for the fall of 2004. In order to be eligible to run you must be a current Mt. SAC student who will be attending Mt. SAC for both fall and spring semesters next year. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else please contact Robert Rogus or Rebecca Moran. We ask those who accept nominations to submit a one paragraph personal statement to Rebecca at their earliest convenience. Please check the events page for upcoming events.
